Ideas for Mind-body Care: Health for your Whole Self

Speakers Sheila Edwards and Amanda Nelson will share specific tools that can help support individuals toward unconditional positive regard for their whole self: body, mind and spirit. These are modalities complementary to traditional medical care. A few examples include Reiki energy work, coaching, movement, and sound healing. We will also discuss how exploring belief systems can help individuals to better understand the world around them and their part in it. Demonstrations, discussion and resources provided.

Sheila Edwards owns Starflower Intuitive, a business supporting individuals through Reiki energy work. Sheila is the parent of a neurodiverse child and a trauma survivor. She specializes in supporting individuals with disabilities or trauma experiences, as well as their families. Her work incorporates several modalities with a goal to help people find a path back to hope and make a plan to pursue their dreams.

Amanda Nelson is the owner of Oasis Wellness. Amanda is a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, a Certified Dementia Practitioner, and a Reiki practitioner since 2006. For over 20 years, she has been providing individualized wellness support through varied roles as a leader, advisor, coach, and facilitator. She has extensive experience with utilizing mindful decision making, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and trauma informed care techniques to promote the individuality and potential of each person.
