Inspiring Abilities Expo Offers Opportunities to Connect and Learn

Register today for the 2022  Spring Inspiring Abilities Expo! The expo offers families and professionals a great opportunity to network with organizations and service providers who meet the unique needs of individuals with disabilities and mental health needs. Visit the exhibit hall to meet and talk with therapy and service providers, nonprofit organizations, advocacy groups, recreation programs and other agencies serving adults and children alike.

At 10:30 am we will feature a presentation from Karly Sciortino-Poulter, director of The Arc Advocacy Network at The Arc of Indiana will be presenting The Road to SSI: An In-Depth Look at the Application and Appeals Process.

Many individuals with disabilities apply for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) through the Social Security Administration when they become adults. However, this process is more complex than many people realize or are prepared for. In this session, we will discuss how the disability determination process works. We will discuss the types of information individuals can and should provide to thoroughly document their disability. Individuals and families can also use this information to help gather appropriate documentation for the Social Security appeals process.
