FUSE Adaptive Swim Program Seeking Volunteers

FUSE is pleased to offer our 17th Annual Adaptive Swim program for children with disabilities.  The adaptive swim program is geared toward non-swimmers and beginning swimmers with disabilities of all types who need to build swimming skills to become independent in the water.  Each swimmer is assisted in the water by a one-on-one volunteer, and that’s where YOU come in!

Location:  Hancock Wellness Center, 888 W. New Road, Greenfield

Schedule:  6:15 to 7:15 pm, beginning Friday, October 1, and ending Friday, November 19

Information for interested volunteers: Volunteers are needed to work one-on-one with children ages 5 to 15 in the water.  Volunteers must be ages 15 or older.  Both adult and student volunteers are essential to the success of the program, so both are encouraged to apply!  No previous experience is required.  Volunteers must have basic swimming skills and be comfortable working with children of various types of disabilities under the direction of the adaptive swim instructor and other volunteer program consultants. Volunteers should be able to commit to at least 6 of the 8 Fridays of the program. If you cannot commit to that many sessions, you can participate as a substitute on weeks where we have a need (need is high over fall break).  Contact us for more information.
