Mental Health and the Holidays

We know how tough caregiving can be. The holidays can be stressful. Living through a pandemic is wearing on us all. Add all those things together? Then you’ve got a recipe for frustration, discouragement, and exacerbation of existing mental health issues. Join us on December 7 as we welcome back Betsy York, MSW for a presentation on caregiver stress during the holidays. Our December Zoom meeting will feature a frank conversation with those who “get it”!

Betsy York, MSW is a behavior consultant with CRF First Choice and works with kids and adults with an intellectual disability through the BDDS Medicaid Waiver. She graduated from Indiana University Indianapolis in 2009 with her Masters of Social Work. Her social work career started in community development but quickly fizzled when she realized writing grants for housing projects was far too impersonal for her taste. Thanks to a bit of serendipity, Betsy found her way to her current role-better known as the job she never knew she always wanted. Now, she spends her days teaching folks abut emotions and boundaries, helping them explore better ways to handle sticky situations, and encouraging them to bloom into their beautiful, best self.
